Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 large onions (~1.5 lbs), diced
1.5 lbs. ground beef
3 (14.5-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (14.5-ounce) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
2 (14.5-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can Ro-Tel “Original” diced tomatoes, undrained
3 tablespoons cornmeal
3 tablespoons chili powder
3 bay leaves
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon sage
2 teaspoons salt
Directions
Saute onions and garlic in butter until lightly browned. Remove from pot.
Brown ground beef, drain.
Add all remaining ingredients and simmer until flavors are well blended. 2+ hours.
