Noodle Kugel
Typically a sweet casserole, this version of noodle kugel is savory, flavored with garlic and onions.
Ingredients
8 oz wide egg noodles
1 1/2 cup (12 oz) sour cream
1 1/4 cup (12 oz) cottage cheese
8 tbsp butter, divided
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 large yellow onion, minced
4 cloves garlic, minced
Directions
Cook egg noodles according to package instructions, until noodles are al dente.
Heat oven to 350 F.
Saute garlic and onions with 2 tbsp butter until lightly carmelized, about 8 minutes.
Melt remaining 6 tbsp butter.
Whisk together sour cream, cottage cheese, eggs, and melted butter.
Add cooked noodles and onion mixture.
Pour into 9x13 pan and bake for 35-40 minutes. Kugel should be lightly browned.
