- Dry Rub:
- 3 tbsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- Sauce:
- 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup water (optional)
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp liquid smoke
- 1.5 lbs beef brisket
- 1/2 onion, sliced into rings
- Mix dry rub ingredients together. Rub evenly over the surface of the brisket.
- Place brisket in a large container; refrigerate 30 minutes to overnight.
- Mix sauce ingredients together in the bottom of a slow cooker.
- Add brisket to the slow cooker.
- Arrange onions atop the brisket
- Cook on low until brisket is very tender, 6-7 hours.
- Slice or shred brisket, serve with sauce from the slow cooker.
